UFC: Rio II is Sttaaaacccckkeeeeddddd with a capital S

Just a quick post. For anyone who hasn't seen the news, the UFC 153 main card has been completed with Demian Maia facing off against Rick Story {source: http://esporte.uol.com.br/lutas/vale...-ufc-rio-3.htm}

So, a short breakdown of the main card...

Aldo vs. Koch - Not the greatest challenge for Scarface but it's always excited to see the champ fight. Don't get me wrong, Eric Koch is a dangerous fighter with a good record, but I'd be shocked to say the least if he is able to pull this off.

Belfort vs. Belcher - Great, great fight with title implications and questions aplenty. Belcher has great submission defence, Belfort is coming off his first submission in 10-or-so years. Alan Belcher has solid standup, Vitor Belfort is renowned for his quick hands. Sooooo many questions and I for one am like a kid awaiting Christmas for this one.

Teixeira vs. Jackson - Another extremely great scrap between two guys on the brink of top-10 status. For Rampage, it's do or die time. For Teixeira, it's either a win over a very respected seasoned veteran, or back to the end of the line with all of the hype dead. An impressive win for Rampage could resurrect his career; Teixeira could be put into title contention with the aforementioned scenario.

Silva vs. Fitch - I really like this fight. Fitch was seen as relatively unbeatable prior to the Hendricks fight, which many still believe is a fluke. A win for him places him back into a similar position. However, Erick Silva has a ton of hype surrounding him and a win over a hugely respected guy such as Jon Fitch would do wonders. Once again, an abundance of questions coming into this fight. Silva's stand-up or Fitch's wrestling? Is experience the key? What's Silva's ground game like?

Maia vs. Story - I can't see Story making much of a case for a title shot in all honesty, but Maia could be fast tracked to one relatively quickly. He is a UFC vet with impressive wins at middleweight and he's looking to resurrect his career with a WW run. I'm not saying a win over Story will lead him to a title shot straight away, but it could leave him just two-or-so fights from doing so.

CONCLUSION: Without injuries, this card will be freaking awesome.

The card is pretty good. Also excited about watching Vitor and Aldo fight. If Silva knocks out Fitch, the card is worth it already.

I honestly hate the events outside N.A......I know, typical N.A ignorance.....but the production value suffers, the noise doesn't radiate the way the N.A PPV's do thru the tv.....the time delay sucks......
