I thought Lombard landed the harder shots, and to me, it looked just like any other Hector Lombard fight. People get decieved by the whole "he has alot of knockouts and submissions", that isn't who he is trying to be. He has said on MANY occassions, he isn't interested in putting on an exciting fight. He don't care if the fans boo during his fights, he just wants to win. The impression I think people had was that he was someone out there trying to end fights and be exciting, due to how his fights have ended, but that was never the case. Lombard has said for years now, he isn't interested in making sure the fans see a good fight, he wants the fight to be a win, if its exciting, whatever thats nice, but if it isn't, oh well to that too.
He wouldn't engage for shit. Just like many other counter strikers, he expected to just stand around and wait for Tim to just gift him a huge opening to clock him. I hate counter strikers who fight that way, and only want to throw a punch when the other guy forces a ton of punches their way. Certain counter strikers can literally be just as bad as a lay and pray guy when they won't ever unleash any attacks and they just stand around. That is what Lombard did and that is why he lost.

Personally I don't think anyone should have had their hand raised. They both should have been announced as losers in that fight and both should have a loss on their record for that performance. That can't happen obviously, but the fight should have been a draw none the less. There was no winner in that fight.

With the way people have been bashing this fight, I'm glad I held onto my $50

The fights before this were nearly as bad too. The Kongo fight was disgusting.

Sounded like it. The prelims seemed better than the main card.

Better? They were 10x better. Thank God I watched them, it saved my night. Tho I really enjoyed the Faber Vs. Barao fight. Cruz Vs Barao should make a hell of a fight.

The only prelim I was able to watch was Jimmo/Perosh and that lasted a whopping 7 seconds

Watching a rebroadcast of the prelims right now as I sit reading and writing, and so far. great stuff. This kid Rivera at 135 looked excellent, and how much better can you get than a seven second one punch knockout?

Will reserve judgement on Lombard until he fights again...

Yea, I personally am a fan of Lombard, but I don't care for the whole counterstriking stratagy myself, and would agree its as boring as a lay and pray. But, I am pretty sure they both threw the same number of punches, and Lombard DEFINETLY landed the better shots, and even put boetsche on his ass with the kick to the liver. But, this is how Lombard has fought litteretly for years now. I was mind blown when hearing the announcing on this fight, talking about how Hector Lombard is super aggressive, the whole time I kept thinking to myself "No he isn't, have you never seen a Lombard fight???" It was like Rogan and Goldberg never seen Lombard fight, and was just going based of what wikipedia said on his profile there. "Oh win by ko, win by ko, win by ko, win by ko, win by sub, win by ko, win by sub, win by ko... hes an aggressive guy knocking people out". But the problem with that, is like I said, Hector Lombard has said, for years now, he doesn't care if his fight is boring, he just wants to win. And while it was disappointing, and I did want more. I definetly think he landed the better, cleaner, and honestly the majority of the shots landed.

Even when I'm 100% certain of a fight outcome, I'm only 75% sure... and of that, there's only a 50/50 shot that I'm right.
