UFC President, Dana White has been giving his initial thoughts on the upcoming “TUF : The Smashes” season as they pit “Team UK” against “Team Australia” in a single elimination tournament, with the head of the Las Vegas based promotion explaining who the fighters from the UK are already underestimating their foes.
Speaking via The Herald Sun, Dana said:
“Because MMA is newer here than it is to the United States and the UK, and this happened when the US fought the UK, the US were very cocky and that they felt like you know, `there’s not enough good guys over there.’ Well that’s the way the UK is acting right now and when you underestimate your opponent, that’s when you get your ass kicked.”
“Ultimate Fighter” season nine winner, Ross Pearson will coach “Team UK” while season five cast member, George Sotiropoulos will take charge of “Team Australia”. The big question is will the UK fighters take their Aussie counterparts for granted as Dana predicted?
