if he would have fought his fight in Vegas...he would have beat Chuck...prolly KO-I was there and it was the most exciting sports event I've ever been to!

Cota, saw a great show on Fuel TV not too long ago, something like Champion's Roundtable. There was Mark Coleman, Royce Gracie, Tito Ortiz, Randy Couture, all talking about the past, present and future of MMA. I don't know if Wand was using in Pride, (look at the shots of a young Belfort: no doubt there...) but Coleman told a story about going back to Silva's dressing room at an event many years ago, and his trainers were rubbing his legs with oil. Coleman said he questioned why they were doing it, (Silva was going up against a wrestler), and Coleman said Wanderlei turned to him and growled "It's a fight!", and that's all that was said. Coleman said the ref wiped down Silva's legs in the ring, but sounded like the damage was done. Don't remember who he was fighting, but Coleman said Wanderlei won that night...

Huh?!? Wandy always fights his fight-go out there and try to take the other guy's head off. Chuck simply did a better job of it.

I'll remember him as the best LHW of his time. A guy that's all heart, a mad dog who never held back. A sport icon.

I'll remember him as the best of his era.A true savage, dominant and violent champion with absolutely no fear of anyone. I'll remember that before he competed under unified rules he competed for a long time under Pride rules and was even competing when their was virtually anything goes. I'll remember his seemingly psychopathic staredowns that always made me glad that it wasn't me who had to fight him. And yet for all his vicious stoppages and all the wars he's been in and his "keep moving forward"attitude and genuinely intimidating staredowns, in every interview he's given he seems like one of the nicest guys in MMA. I'll remember him as a true warrior. How many fights of his throughout his career can you think of where when you think of it you think "fuck that was an awesome fight" or "fuck that was a brutal KO". Sure he's gotten older and MMA has evolved into a different thing than what it was when he started out but in his era he was the best there was. At least i think so.

    Exactly, spot on!
