Former interim UFC heavyweight champion, Shane Carwin has been giving his first thoughts on the announcement he’ll be coaching the sixteenth season of “The Ultimate Fighter”, warning his opposite number, Roy Nelson that this opportunity is definitely a serious one.
Speaking via his blog, Carwin said:
“This will be the first time in my adult life that I wont be working. I will just be focusing on developing a team to win the show and focusing on preparing to knock Roy Nelson out. That is my new job and my new passion. I know Roy likes to be the UFC’s Jester but he better know this is not a joke for me. He can keep striving for being average, I am pushing myself and those around me to find the American Dream. The dream that comes from lots of hard work and sacrifice, no gimmicks necessary.”
Carwin, a former interim heavyweight champion, hasn’t been seen since UFC 131 last June when he lost to Junior dos Santos via unanimous decision. Back injuries have forced him out of regular competition, meaning he’s competed twice in the last two years. Stay tuned to MMABay for more build-up to this one as we get it.
