UFC 148: Georges St. Pierre Reacts To Anderson Silva's Outburst Against Chael Sonnen

This was probably the only time Anderson Silva fought emotionally.



After years of being taunted, Anderson Silva finally responded. The UFC middleweight champion uncharacteristically lashed out against Chael Sonnen during a recent UFC 148 press conference, promising fans that he will 'break every single bone' in his body and that he will 'rip all of his teeth out'.

Georges St. Pierre, who is no stranger to being chided and taunted himself, heard about this and says that Sonnen may have finally gotten what he wanted after all. The UFC welterweight champion talked to sportsnet.ca about it (HT: MMA Convert):

"He wants to get into Anderson Silva's head and he did it. That's what he wants, because when you fight with emotion, you don't fight smart.
"The crowd, they love it. (Silva) he's going to go crazy but he can make a mistake if you do that. It's a big mistake."

"You have to go back to the reason he's a champion. And the reason he's a champion is because he fights smart, he's skilled. More skilled than the other guys ... He brings the fight where he is the best. He doesn't go crazy.
"That's what Chael Sonnen wants from him."

Has Sonnen out-psyched his opponent? Will Silva fight out of character because of his emotions? Or did he just start to 'play the game' by hyping this fight up even more? Either way, I'm looking forward to seeing it all unfold this weekend.

Anderson wouldn't be human if he didn't let all of Chaels comments eventually get to him, still think he fights without too much anger in him, he's too good to let that get in the way.

Anderson Silva isn't going to fight any different this time around... he's gonna fight like he usually does, from the outside, patiently waiting to pick his shots, and do his best to avoid Chael's takedowns.

...but none of that is going to work for Silva, the fight is pretty much gonna be a back and forth fight between both fighters, with Chael Sonnen edging out the decision by applying more pressure and dictating the pace.
