Melvin Guillard still haunted by that “lucky punch” from “disrespectful” Joe Lauzon

UFC lightweight powerhouse, Melvin Guillard has once again been revisiting his last defeat in the octagon at the hands of submission artist, Joe Lauzon, claiming he was dropped by a “lucky punch” before labelling his conqueror “disrespectful” in his post-fight comments.

    Speaking via FiveOuncesOfPain.com, Guillard said:

“If I had to pick any one guy that I wanted to fight it would have to be Joe Lauzon. He was very disrespectful after he won the fight. All I said was I thought I beat myself because I was too amped up and I was also transitioning between camps. I gave him respect for beating me, but then I read in a magazine that he punched me in my face, dropped me and then choked me out. I tried to take the high road and be professional about it, but he chose to be disrespectful about it. I want to win this fight and hopefully get a rematch with Lauzon. [He] caught me with a lucky punch and that was the deciding factor. I could see if he beat me up for five minutes, but he didn’t and it will be different if we meet again.”

Guillard has lost back-to-back fights inside the octagon to Joe Lauzon and Jim Miller and will now be looking to put himself back in title contention. Prior to that he’d strung together a series of wins but maybe took his eye off the bal when he switched Greg Jackson’s camp for the Blackzilians. He’ll take on Fabricio Camoes at UFC 148 on July 7th in Las Vegas, Nevada.

No such thing as a lucky punch, you get hit if you fail to defend or evade....now move on Melvin!!!

How was Lauzon being disrespectful by saying a fact of what took place when they fought. There was nothing inaccurate about what he said. It's a fact Melvin. Deal with it. But STFU and stop blaming Lauzon and calling it a lucky punch and shit like that. Lauzon went in and worked your ass like a vet. He landed a solid punch and capitalized off of it. Good for Lauzon.
