    Report: Fedor leaves M-1 management

    Report: Fedor leaves M-1 management

As a disclaimer to this story, the M-1 Global website was hacked earlier this week and reported that Fedor had signed to fight Brock Lesnar in the UFC. So it could be true, or it could just be another hack, but the report is that Russian heavyweight legend Fedor Emeliaenenko has severed his relationship with M-1 Global:
Fedor Emelianenko the long time representative and ambassador from Russia has recently disbanded from MMA pioneers M-1 global. Fedor signed with M-1 global in 1998 and owns a 15% stake in ownership.
On multiple occasions, negotiations between the UFC and M-1 to bring Fedor to the UFC have failed, with the major sticking point being that M-1 wanted co-promotion. Does this now open the door to Fedor coming to the UFC? Probably not, but anything is possible.

I'd like to think this is true! It may not be the fight it could have been a few years back but I'd still really like to see Fedor and Brock fight! The PPV for that, I would imagine, would be huge.

Sounds like bulls#!t to me. He's too much up m-1's ass and nuts that I doubt he'd ever leave. Why leave now after they've thoroughly fucked his career. Besides he'd part owner. Oh and : m-1!!

But fedor and Brock aren't at near the top of the hw division so this does nothing for me. Lhw would be a different story, Jones vs Fedor or Shogun or Machida vs Fedor, that's what I'm talking about.

I think if it's going to happen(Fedor in the UFC) it would be for huuuuge money, even now, and to guarantee huge PPV it would have to be Brock. I would like to see those fights you mentioned Misfit, but also I really don't see Fedor weight cutting this late in his career, especially if it was coming out of retirement!

I don't see any way Fedor generates huge $ anymore.

Brock / Fedor would generate some cash, but it's more a freak show than anything at this point. Both guys are looking very suspect right now.

I think Brock generates 80% of that revenue on his own anyway. Put him up against a tomato can with some kind of story and the $ comes.

I'd love to see Fedor come to the UFC and work his way back to respectability... but I can't imagine there'd be a lot of $ up-front.

I agree there wouldn't be huge money up front but Fedor would be in on the PPV money generated I would think. Also sponsors etc would cause it to be huge money.

And definitely, the losses each have suffered make them both fairly irrelevant as fighters now, so I see where you're coming from saying it would be a freak show!!
