GSP back to training full time

Georges St-Pierre recently announced via his Facebook that he is back to training full time in the gym since having his ACL repaired. In his words GSP stated,
“I’m back in Montreal and full-time training! Already tried a few kicks – right knee is super strong…”
It’s too soon to tell, but it seems like there will be ample time for him to make his November date with Carlos Condit. With a little over four months, there’s plenty of room to slowly increase the training regimen so that he will be ready for the bout.

Of course with a recent string of injuries in the UFC, the quicker he can return the better. A little while back, Big Nog had to pull out of a proposed matchup with Cheick Kongo because he overestimated how quickly he could return from his arm injury. Hopefully, things work out and GSP can unify the welterweight title with Carlos Condit.

Getting the sense that as long as George suffers no set-backs, we're going to see a welterweight monster re-emerge this Fall. I've seen some of the videos St. Pierre has posted throughout his rehab, and for a 170 lb fighter, the guy looks huge, and he hasn't been training at full intensity. I read not too long ago he said he was up about 195, and I believe it...

The question becomes, how hard can the champion train in preparation for his return to the octagon, for what undoubtedly will be one of his toughest challenges, without putting everything he's working for at risk? I read about the ACL repair that he had, a new procedure that sounds somewhat analogous to the Tommy Johns elbow surgery that baseball pitchers go through, and many of those athletes have said that they were stronger following that surgery than they were before. If that proves to be the case here, then all I can think is that Carlos Condit better be preparing for the fight of his life, which I'm sure he is anyway, but an even stronger GSP has to be daunting to contemplate. Just wondering how hard Jackson, Winkeljohn, and his various trainers will push St. Pierre, how intense the sparring sessions will be, and how they will achieve a balance between insuring he's going hard enough to win, but not so hard that he ends up on the surgeon's table again, either for re-injuring his knee, or for some other unforeseen problem...

Yeah, I've seen some of those rehabbing videos too, and yes GSP looks huge! I think this period may have been a time GSP has been considering making the move up to MW. After the Condit fight, assuming it happens and that GSP has no issues with his knee, I reckon we may see him make the move to Middleweight.

Never fear, inevitably we shall have our years of failure, and when they arrive, we must reveal tolerance and sanity. No matter the days of anxiety that come our way, we shall emerge stronger because of the trials to be overcome. That has been the philosophy of the Rangers since the days of the gallant pioneers.
