MMA Fighting has M-1 Global: Fedor vs. Rizzo results for all of the main card fights at the Ice Palace in St. Petersburg, Russia.

The event may feature the last bout of heavyweight great Fedor Emelianenko, who has hinted at possible retirement. He'll be facing former Brazilian veteran Pedro Rizzo in the show's main event.

It looks like “The Last Emperor” will walk off into the sunset with a three fight winsteak. It was a swift first round finish of Pedro Rizzo at M-1 Global’s: Fedor vs. Rizzo, which led to the announcement of Emelianenko’s (34-4-1) retirement.

Here’s the translation of Fedor’s retirement via Lowkick.com:

“I think it’s time. I’m retiring from sports. I still have the SAMBO World Championships. My family is the reason I will not be fighting again. My daughters are growing without their father, so it’s the right time to leave…There’s no ‘fantastic’ offer that could tempt me out of retirement. I’m retiring to spend more time with my family”

From the sounds of it, even the opportunity of fighting in the UFC for the first time could not bring back the former pound-for-pound greatest.

wish we could have seen more of him but it was great during the Pride days. One thing you can always say about Fedor, every single punch he threw was meant to do damage. Goodbye Fedor, you as a fighter will be missed but not all the damn drama that was part of your baggage.

I'm actually more sad than I thought I would be. But his last few years was just surrounded by so much damn drama, I won't miss that crap at all. I'm sure every year or two, we will hear about some Major fight he might be part of just like we did with Rickson for all those damn years. Rickson vs Sakuraba rumored damn near every 6 months there for a while. It was sad they never had their rematch...
