I think it's an issue for scoring if nothing else, when his hair is flying everywhere and punches are exchanged it's hard to see what is landing clearly.

Didn't he say that he (Maynard) was unaware of the complaint? That would mean that it's his camp that has the problem with it, not him.

It probably does make Maynard look like a baby, but I still don't blame him....it is a distraction, especially when Guida is establishing his Lay N' Pray with his head on Maynards......if he is able to take Maynard down.

I believe all fighters should either be forced to tie their hair back/braid or cut it.

Forcing people to cut their hair??? wtf. yeeeah. I can see asking someone to tie their hair back. That happens in a lot of professions but being forced to cut your hair is a little extreme. But in reality dudes have been fighting with long hair forever now. If Maynard did file this he needs to deal.

Forcing the fighters to cut their hair isn't a big deal.....many professional sports franchises have player policies in affect that limit players hair length...the Yankees being a very prominate one...the NewJersey devils also have a policy in place that forbids their employees from having fascial hair.

But that's the thing, the UFC doesn't have that policy. Everyone else Guida has fought didn't complain and it didn't seem to bother them. it's not like Guida is undefeated or anything. I don't think the hair has anything to do with anything. maybe Maynard wants something to distract people from the fact that he got KO'd by Edgar.

That's my point, I think the UFC should adopt that policy....short hair or braided, with minimal facial hair.
