Bisping not currently considered for TUF Smashes

Michael Bisping is not a name currently floating around in connection with the UK coaching role on the TUF Smashes series, according to UFC managing director of international business, Marshall Zelaznik.

Bisping is a graduate of the TUF series, having won the competition as a competitor. He has since used his knowledge of the show to coach on two occasions against Dan Henderson and Jason Miller.

As Briton's most marketable mixed martial artist the temptation is there to use Bisping's charisma for a third time. However, it appears that is not in the UFC's thinking.

"There's a shortlist floating around but no decision has been made so anything that anyone is reporting is inaccurate," Zelaznik told the ESPN UFC Podcast.

"I think Dana [White] and Lorenzo [Fertitta] are looking into it but no decision has been made. We've been talking to a couple of the guys to see who's available, a lot depends on how Joe Silva has them figured out regarding their contracts and so on.

"Bisping, he's not being considered right now."

Ross Pearson is reported to be the favourite to take the UK coaching role, possibly in rivalry with George Sotiropoulos. However, Pearson currently has to focus on his forthcoming fight with Cub Swanson.

Giving the names of Pearson and Sotiropoulos, it would seem they will be the ones. This was rumoured when The SmAshes were announced also. I hope it doesn't mean Ross is moving back up to LW though.
