Definitely not a mistake on Marquardts part. I remember when this fight happened. Marquardt CLEARLY tapped and continues to punch Almeida's face. Marquardt has a long history of being a somewhat dirty fighter, there were issues like these in plenty of his UFC fights, not to mention his two positive drug tests. Anybody who knows Renzo knows he's a hothead who loves his guys, especially Ricardo Almeida, and its no less unsportsmanlike for Marquardt to pull that temper tantrum BS than for Renzo to go after him for it. Plus, Nate apologized to both guys after and they all shook hands and hugged. I don't blame Renzo one bit for the way he acted, which was in defense of his student and fighter.

You need to blame Renzo a little, it's definitely not acceptable to do what he did in that instance. However I actually appreciate that he was defending his fighter, which is an admirable trait.

Fair enough like you say both were to blame, but i srill think it is the wrong thing to do, he could have helped the ref pull him off instead of kicking him. and lile you say it was wrong for nate to continue but o think he was just caught up in the fight. i totally agree with you though and am glad they all made up afterwards.

Caught up in the fight is no excuse. Paul Daley cracked Koscheck after the bell and no one made that excuse for him, Nate is a dirty fighter. Check the Thales Leites fight.

Nobody noticed Almeida holding on longer than he should've? That's why Nate clocked him! It's no excuse on anyone's part though to act like they did. This was just shit behavior on all sides. Charlie Foxtrot.

I was just going to say Cisco, I also remember this fight and Almeida definitely held the choke way WAY after the tap which was what brought on the over reaction by Marquardt but Gracie doing what he did just accentuates and perpetuates the disrespect that submission fighters show by holding subs too long. Kicking Nate in the face was ridiculous, more so than either sides wrong doing initially. I honestly can't stand the Gracies more and more.

Would you like to present some examples of what Marquardt has done to call him a dirty fighter? I've never heard that described about him, nor have I ever noticed anything dirty in any of his fights.
