Hector Lombard vs. Rousimar Palhares set for UFC on FX 6 on Dec. 14 in Australia

    FIGHT!
After failing to impress in his Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) debut back at UFC 149 this past July 21 in Calgary, laying an egg and coming up short on the judges' scorecards against Tim Boetsch, Hector Lombard will get another chance at justifying the hype surrounding him during his time spent in Bellator.
The Judoka will take on Brazilian grappling wizard Rousimar Palhares in his next outing inside the Octagon at UFC on FX 6, which is set to go down on Dec. 14, 2012 in Australia.
UFC President Dana White broke the news via his official Twitter account:

"FX 6 Australia Friday Dec 14 Middleweight Bout Rousimar Palhares VS Hector Lombard."
    This one should be good.

Palhares was last seen getting grounded-and-pounded by Alan Belcher this past May 5 at UFC on Fox 3: "Diaz vs. Miller." Prior to that, "Toquinho" was riding a three fight win streak, inching closer to the top of the 185-pound division before running into "The Talent."Two of the most under-sized contenders in the division, the stocky middleweights both look to get back on the winning track and avoid dropping consecutive fights with the promotion. A win for either man could go a long way in helping them hang on to their spot on the company's roster. A loss, on the other hand, could be disastrous.
How about it Maniacs, who are you taking in this pivotal clash and what are your early predictions?
Can Lombard get back to his head-hunting ways? Or will Palhares latch on to one of his strong limbs and make him squeal?
    Opinions, please.

Am I the only one wondering how this is a main event? Both fighters coming off loses and one who is 0-1 in the UFC, i know Lombard is big in Australia but this should be first fight on main card material at best

This should be a good and considerably easy fight for Lombard IMO. Paul Harris has terrible striking.., and Poison Dwarf has world class Judo. I don't see Toquinho taking him down. THo if does, it won't take long to submit him.

      Let the dwarf battle being!

I'm not sure it is the main event, I don't see it say that in the article...could be wrong though!

A big fight for Lombard, he should win this one....but, if he does not, the pressure will be on him to drop to MW.

The article says Dana tweeted that it was the main event but I just checked his tweet and it doesn't say that....

That said, with this event likely as the TUF Finale, it would probably make sense for this to headline that show, Lombard is a huge fan favourite in Australia.

I'm one of the people that thought we'd be talking about Lombard/Silva by now, so I can only hope that the real Hector Lombard shows up for this one.

Reads like a great match on paper, as Palhares is a world class grappler, judo and jujitsu black belt, against judo and jujitsu black belt Lombard, who also happens to have 17 knockouts on his record. Having seen more Lombard fights, I'd favor Lombard, but I thought that last time too...

Thinking if Hector Lombard wants to continue with the UFC, and have any prayer of making waves at 185, this is the time and the place.

Quality fight! I really like palhares also. He is one of my favourites to watch at the moment , he really is. I dont belive we seen the true lombard in his last fight , very tenative to exchange for some reason? Maybe it was tim's hand's that had him nervous.

didn't Hector claim he went into the fight injured? Either way, this fight has the potential to be a good one! I am a fan of both these guys & I think Lombard has to make a statement in this fight in order to stay relevant in the MW div!! I am a huge fan of Toquinho too!! He is a beast! It's going to be 2 of the shortest MW's in this fight!! lol

Yes, Hector did claim injury around a week or so after the fight. I think this fight will be a different one completely from Hectors last fight!
