HOFFMAN ESTATES, Ill. — Prior to Saturday's "Strikeforce: Fedor vs. Rogers" event, Strikeforce CEO Scott Coker said the winners of the night's two key heavyweight bouts, Fedor Emelianenko vs. Brett Rogers and Fabricio Werdum vs. Antonio Silva, could meet at a future event.

After Emelianenko dispatched of Rogers via second-round knockout and Werdum edged Silva via decision, Coker was again asked if that was still the plan.

The Strikeforce boss said some discussions will first need to take place, but he admitted the matchup "makes a lot of sense."

Coker discussed the possible bout in the night's post-fight press conference.

However, someone beat him to the topic and was already campaigning for the matchup.

"Maybe it's my turn now," said Werdum, who survived Silva's first-round battering to win a unanimous decision, 29-28, on all three judges' cards. "It's my turn to fight Fedor. I have a lot of respect for Fedor. Fedor is the best in the world."

Doesn't Fedor vs Overroid make more sense?

Nope Jax, that would mean a for sure loss and then what would M-1 do without their money maker? I mean, every game plan by every other organization aside from the UFC is set up so short lived what more is anyone to think?

I Think So, Let Fedor Beat Allstair Overeem And Then Let Fabricio Werdum Fight The Fedor For The Belt.

Well who is overroid going to fight?.....Oh wait prob nobody, maybe that's why the delay, there is nobody else for Werdum in the meantime.

And Should fedor win the title he would have no fights left on his contract because he's only signed to 3 fights.

Not Like He Is Going To The UFC So There Is A 99.9% Chance He Resigns With The UFC.

Yeah, this would be a complete worthless match up man. That's why Fedor doesn't belong in Strikeforce. Fedor would demolish Werdum. That's no disrespect on Werdum or anything, but I just don't think Werdum being able to bring anything to Fedor man.

I think that Fedor would beat probably all of the heavyweights in the UFC other than BRock, but I would give a much high % chance to Mir, Cain, and Carwin that they could possibly have enough to upset Fedor in a match up. I think Fedor would beat all of them, but I would like their chances way more than a guy like Werdum or anyone else currently in Strikeforce.
