How serious is your desire to be involved with MMA?

I'm the people's promoter. Whatever the people want, I'm going to promote. Whatever the public wants, that's what I want to give them. I want to give it to them with candor so they can quantify, qualify and identify with whoever the athlete is.

Your rival Bob Arum has made condescending remarks about MMA, referring to their fan base as too unrefined. Your thoughts?

They are Americans. They are people. Who am I to say that something is wrong with them when I'm always crying about, "Why you're treating me this way?" They bring competition. They bring people. Let's enrich it and monetize it. Let's bring the people something.

When you bring a new store to town, you can choose between the prices and the fabrics. When I bring my guys in we'll be getting prepared to take on Dana White and Lorenzo Fertitta in their league vs. our league. The same thing I want to do with the sport of boxing I want to do with MMA. Make it competitive, man. Make it a comparison. Even though they've put on good fights, let's see what they do with someone totally independent.

So does this mean you're adding an MMA arm to Don King Productions?

Well, I can't do this all by myself. I'm 78 but I'm not slowing down. I've got all the time in the world to rest when I get to heaven.

He is the last peron I would want in MMA promotions. He is snake and a charmer with only HIS intentions in mind. I read about this few months back on another forum and it was a resounding NO all around. He is corupt and would just damage the sport IMO.

Hmmm, it's a long story Drock but imagine M1's management but with a lot of power. About 30 years ago, boxing was huge, it really was. Then Don King came along. But to be honest, I would have to do a bit of research to get my facts right. It's better if MMAlaskan just pops in and gives us the lowdown. Unless he likes King, then I will most likely just ban him. ;)

King is,was,and always will be a crook.He has been known too step over top of his fallen fighters to get to the other side of the ring to embrace the other fighter,amongst many other shady things.Stifling some of his own fighters careers if he didn't get the concessions from them that he wanted.Double billing them for things,insisting some use his son Carl as their manager,trying to steal other promoters fighters with suitcases of cash,...the list for why he is bad goes on and on.....

And that is just the tiny, tiny surface of his Bio. If I recall, he also did time for murder. I think he beat to death somebody over a bet but that goes way back and I might not be 100% accurate in the details. He's a POS, he's like what Fedor's manager wants to be but 1,000,000,000 times worse.

Like someone else said,without going back over my books,or researching,or my newspaper clippings,lol(I save just about everything),its a very long list as to why he is bad.
Ask Tim Witherspoon,or Larry Holmes,Lately,ask Tyson,and there are soooo many more who have been done wrong by that evil,flagwaving hairshocked SOB.
Yes,he did time for killing a man,who owed 600 dollars,he was also a strongarm and a collector like Sonny Liston was.
