I can tell you from experience, that hardware causes pain on a daily basis.

I can't even imagine that Tito is even able to fight !

I can relate Tito will hate cold and rainy days for the rest of his life.

I've got a steel plate and six screws holding my neck together. I haven't had one minute of pain or problems from in after the initial recovery. Three vertebrae are now fused. I can't look up as high as I used to be able to and doctors won't clear me to compete in MMA, but those are the only negative effects I've had. Of course my age and lack of athleticism also keep me from competing in MMA, so no big deal. :)

wow, damn Medic, what happened to you for all that to be done. I was thinking you were some type of medic or something from the title but I guess you know as much as one after going though all that.

I used to be a paramedic and was a Navy hospital corpsman before that, but nowadays I travel the country in a big truck.

As for what happened, I think it was more of a cumulative thing, no single event really did it. All I know is I had two ruptured disks in my neck and had to have them cleaned out and fused. I do remember turning my head while I was doing triceps extensions and it felt like a rubber band snapped in my neck. It was all downhill from there until I had the fusion done. :)

well, I'm glad it worked out for you and that you are pain free now. If you are driving all the time and pain free, sounds like they did something right. Cool to have you on the site.

That sounds like the exception to the rule from the people I know that have had fusion and/or hardware put into their bodies.

That scares me because you just never know what the hell can happen at any given moment. I exercise and workout on a daily basis and I still fear the day that I injure myself or something just wears out.

I am not getting any younger and the pains of old age really do bother me! Not calling YOU old either, just saying.
