Mixed martial arts fans who were disappointed that Gegard Mousasi and Rameau Thierry Sokoudjou weren’t meeting in DREAM’s “Super Hulk Tournament,” fear not. “The Dreamcatcher” and “The African Assassin” will instead throw hands at the Nov. 7 “Fedor vs. Rogers” Strikeforce event on CBS.

Unfortunately for the Cameroonian, it won’t be for the Armenian’s light heavyweight title.

MMAmania.com has been able to confirm a Sherdog.com report that upon approval by the Illinois State Athletic Commission, Mousasi vs. Sokoudjou will complete the televised portion of the Strikeforce/CBS event, set to air on network television from the Sears Centre in Hoffman Estates, Illinois.

WTF, is this like the WWF back in the day were they would have non-title fights. This is just stupid if both guys can make weight. I'm starting to think less and less of Strikeforce. There were really starting to put so good cards together, now they are doing in more stupid shit than having guys not defend their titles for over 2 years.

Yeah I Have No Idea Why This Woudln't Be A Title Fight, But I Wouldn't Say Anything Is Wrong With Strikeforce This Card Will Still Be Fucking Awesome.

It's just little stuff like this is starting to wear on me. Overeem and Le as champs without defending was/is a joke. And if both guys make weight in this fight, why not have it go 5 rounds. I think they are doing it not title to just not take up too much precious "CBS" time. This is what pisses me off about them. Again, it's only my opinion but I think Strikeforce is watering down the sport to please CBS. Fedor not fighting his first fight for the title is a joke and now this. I'm afraid the Strikeforce may have taken too big a step and it's starting to show in their product.

I Agree With You About Overeem And Cung Lu A Fighter Should Atleast Have To Defend His Belt Once A Year If Not Atleast Every 6 Months. You Gotta Look At It From Strikeforce's Point Of View, If Mouasi And Sokojio (sp) Went to a Decision And So Did Miller Vs Shields That's Half Your Show Right There Assuming There Only Getting 2 Hours. They Said Fedor Wasn't Fighting For The Belt In His First Fight Was Cause They Wanted To Buld Him Up Cause Alot OF American Fans Didn't Or Don't Know Who He Is Still So That's Actually Smart.

But that's my point buddy, you are watering down the sport for a TV deal. You are on your knees to please CBS/Showtime. So now you are making decisions based on what CBS/Showtime wants, not what the fans or the fighters want. Dana White has always said that he could have a TV deal tomorrow, just not a TV deal he's willing to sign. I think this is partly what he is talking about. Could you image if the UFC and Fox signed a deal, UFC 108 on FOX, Silva versus Vitor in a 3 round epic fight. WTF, these guys HAVE to go 5. FUCK FOX, FUCK CBS, I want title fights. Well, as long as it's not Timmey and Monson :o . Now in this case with CBS and Mousasi/Soko, I don't think it matters much, I can't see Soku getting out of the first. But imagine if this is the best Soku we have seen and it goes 3 rounds of an epic fight with Soku winning 29/28 in a super close fight. It was pretty much all for nothing. Or even worse, how about if Soku just fucking destroys Mousasi and now Strikeforce is parading Mousasi as their LHW Champ. It looks kinda stupid IMO.

True But Having A TV Deal Could Lead To A Pay Per View Deal Which Is Where The Big Money Is At. And Id Bet My Life Savings That Gegard Murders Anyone He Fights Outside The UFC.

any chance they are afraid of Sokoudjou winning and not fighting again in Strikeforce like the Overeem and Le guys?
