I'm still trying to figure out why Rothwell got picked up by the UFC and his first fight being a "co-main event" in the first place....

Probably because it can be said the he has fought and beat some "named" fighters;

Ricco Rodriguez, Krzysztof Soszynski (twice), and Roy Nelson... not all that impressive, but it's something to mention and they're names that current fans should know of.
