Danny Castillo vs. Alex Karalexis not on tap for WEC 44 in Las Vegas (Updated)

Rising lightweight contender Danny Castillo (8-1 MMA, 3-1 WEC) apparently won't go for his fourth consecutive WEC victory against Alex Karalexis (10-4 MMA, 4-2 WEC) in November at WEC 44.
Earlier today, a source close to the negotiations told MMAjunkie.com (www.mmajunkie.com (http://www.mmajunkie.com)) verbal agreements were in place for the fight, though bout agreements have not been signed.
However, although the bout was in the works, we've since learned the bout has been scrapped for undisclosed reasons.
Castillo, though, could still remain on the card, according to the source.
WEC 44 takes place Nov. 18 at The Pearl at the Palms Casino Resort in Las Vegas and airs on Versus...
