According to Yves Edwards, if Hector Lombard likes you it's a good place to be, but if he doesn't then you are simply bound for an early death. Sure we are all bound for death eventually, but I imagine that a death via Hector Lombard fists might be a bit more bloody and painful than your run of the mill heart attack or car accident induced rigor mortis.

Yves also told us that Hector Lombard and Tim Kennedy are the only two people he knows who are capable of killing zombies with their bare hands. These two statements are proof enough for me that I really want to be down with Team Hector. I'm not ready to die and zombies scare the mess out of me.

Unfortunately, for Nate Marquardt it looks like he might be at the top of the list of people that Hector Lombard isn't too fond of at the moment. According to both a Twitter and Facebook account that claims to be the Hector 'Lightning' Lombard himself, he really wants a fight with Nate Marquardt now that Nate's out of the UFC.

We don't know if Nate wants the fight or not yet, as he hasn't responded to Hector and company's tweets just yet. I just don't think Hector is going to accept 'no' as an answer on this one.

I really like and respect Lombard, I would like to see this fight happen. But first...Nate must go through the tournament process just like everyone else  Get in line!!!

not if they made it a superfight not for the title... cause they do the superfights with champions all the time... then it would just be a 3 round fight...

Thought Lombard was Bellator middleweight champ...

I've caught several late night rebroadcasts of Bellator events on a Spanish language cable channel, and Hector Lombard is the real deal. I know it's always hard to judge when you don't know a lot about the caliber of his opponents, but Hector is a finisher, an excellent striker, and also a really good scrambler on the mat. He's really strong physically, and seems to have good cardio endurance. I think I've seen about five of his matches, and don't think I ever saw him in real trouble.

Good chance Nate Marquardt would be Lombard's most well known and highly accomplished opponent, so it's easy to understand why Lombard would like this fight. I'm sure he knows UFC fans likely perceive Lombard as a big fish in a little pond, so a convincing win over a known UFC commodity would go a long way toward establishing a higher level of legitimacy and greater public awareness of the Bellator champion.

From everything I've seen, Hector Lombard would likely give Marquardt all he could handle in the cage. Wonder if Bellator would relish having their best known and most highly touted commodity exposed like that to potentially losing a "superfight", or whether they'd see it as a chance to prove their fighters are on a par with the bigger more well known promotion's product. I certainly think Hector could succeed against Nate the Great, but Marquardt is an experienced pro with lots of fights against high level opposition, certainly more accomplished than the guys Lombard has run through in Bellator. It will be interesting to see if this goes anywhere...

According to Dana, Marquardt chokes in every BIG fight, so this should be an easy win for Lombard. :D

Agreed but for Nate Marquardt a Bellator Middle Weight Title Shot isn't anything like Main Eventing a UFC Pay Per View or Fighting for the UFC Middle Weight Championship.
