I'm about to start taking pure Jiu Jitsu classes and I don't know what size of Gi to get. I'm 5'8 and 250lbs. I don't know if I should go with the one for my height or the one for my weight.

I mean in terms of length because I've seen some of ones the guys have at the gym and I just don't want it to be too long or baggy.

My BJJ school has their own gis for sale, they don't hav ethem where you're going? I don't know what you look like or anything, but A4 sounds kind of large, I started with an A3, but that was kind of big on me, and I'm not even really a small guy.

Yeah, I got a 6/200. I don't know how big that is ,but I had to get the pants tailored down like 6 inches, but it was worth it. Well, Team Quest sells them , but you have to make like a special order. I just found some random Asian place that sold them for $50 belt and all.

That's a pretty good deal, but you have to be careful. There are gis specifically designed fo BJJ which are different from gis made for judo, karate, etc. Most tournaments, especially Federation tournaments and probably Naga and Grappler's quest will probably penalize you if your gi doesn't meet regulation standards. A buddy of mine had to change his gi pants one time because he had a patch on his knee that was too low. Luckily he had a other pair, but if you don't have another, they might not let you compete.
