Ok, not really shocking, it's just took longer than most of us would have expected. Again, SF proves NOT to be shopping in the UFC garbage. How long until Kimbo signes ;)

Since getting excommunicated from the UFC for punching Josh Koscheck after the bell at UFC 113 in May, Daley appeared on the inaugural pay-pay-view of the Australia-based Impact FC promotion in July – notching a win over Daniel Acacio -- and had been rumored to be in contract talks with Bellator as well as slated to fight in the European United Glory welterweight tournament this fall.
No date is yet known for Daley’s Strikeforce debut. Middle Easy cites an anonymous but “very reliable” source with the news.

To be honest, it's a really good signing by SF but it is what it is, picking up the UFC trash. I would say they should book Diaz/Daley asap.

Wouldn't mind seeing him fight Nick Diaz, Diaz would stand with him at least for a little bit, and we'd be treated to some of the best shit-talking to ever lead up to an MMA fight.

Well, this is just great. You're right Misfit, not shocking and a little disappointing. Strikeforce has GOT to be hurting now. WTF?

Former Cage Rage champion and recent UFC fighter Paul Daley has not signed with Strikeforce.

Despite reports of a completed six-figure deal, Strikeforce spokesperson Mike Afromowitz today told MMAjunkie.com (http://mmajunkie.com/) no deal has been reached with the British fighter. Additionally, a representative for Daley said the fighter is weighing multiple options.

Daley currently is slated to fight at next month's Shark Fights 13 event as part of a one-fight deal with the promotion.

"At this point, I'm not really in a position to comment at this point and time," Wad Alameddine of Fight Management told MMAjunkie.com. "We've definitely been talking to Strikeforce, and we've been talking to a number of different groups. But right now, I'm in a position where I can't make any comment on that, unfortunately."

Yeah but it was from yesterday and they haven't disclosed who their source is. MMAJunkie's is from today and they've spoken with Mike Afromowitz, he's said no deal has been reached yet. Daley will most likely sign with them but as of right now it seems it isn't official.

Agreed, if Daley connects it'll be over but he's really one dimensional. Nobody is going to just stand and trade with him - well I dunno maybe Nick Diaz, because he's stubborn

Less than three months after sucker punching Josh Koscheck after their UFC 113 bout had ended, British welterweight Paul Daley has signed a six-fight deal with Strikeforce.

Middle Easy was the first to report on the signing.

Rumors have been running rampant since the minute UFC President Dana White cut Daley following the lowest moment of his career in Montreal this past May. Frustrated by a smothering and trash talking Koscheck, Daley unleashed a left hook at Koscheck after the bout was officially over.

Daley not only lost a chance to face UFC welterweight champion Georges St. Pierre, he also lost out on an opportunity to coach opposite the champ on The Ultimate Fighter. Daley immediately apologized and vowed to get right back on his horse.

Daley recently competed in Australia on an Impact Fighting Championships card where he defeated Daniel Acacio via third round submission due to strikes. He is also scheduled to face a yet to be named opponent at Shark Fights 13 on September 11 in Amarillo, Texas.

Middle Easy is also reporting that his first opponent in Strikeforce will be Evangelista "Cyborg" Santos, the husband of women's MMA star Cristiane "Cyborg" Santos. No date has been given or even speculated upon. Strikeforce could use a viable contender to take on fellow trash talker and welterweight champion Nick Diaz.

United Glory also has Daley listed as one of its participants in a welterweight tournament they will be holding. The tournament will begin in October and run through spring of 2011. Other fighters rumored for the tournament are Dream lightweight champion Shinya Aoki, Nick Thompson, Dream welterweight champion Marius Zaromskis and former UFC fighter Roan Carneiro.

Strikeforce needs to sign Nick Thompson now, so Daley can avenge that loss. Then I'd love to see Nick Diaz vs. Paul Daley. Nick is a real good boxer, but he doesn't have the power that Paul does, and he lacks kicks. On the ground, Nick was tap Paul out real quick though.

Strikeforce should sign Karo Parisyan too.

Diaz is on another level with his stand up than daley. Diaz WILL trade with him and WILL still win 9/10. That 10th time wouldnt be daley connecting but diaz blowing his knee out sometime during the fight.

I think it's a good fight and will be a good test for Diaz. He's done great beating up guys that belonged in the UFC 10 years ago but Daley is a legit UFC guy today. I almost have this fight as even cause I can see Diaz trying to stand with him. Diaz could fight smart and take him down but that whole "smart" thing might be asking too much from Diaz, he'll just bang and Daley bangs really, really well.

nick diaz has really bad takedowns, i hate that about him.

paul daley should be able to stop diaz's takedowns to be honest.
